Two groups in Bounds Green have been awarded money from Haringey Council's Making the Difference fund. Bowes Park Community Association won £8,000 for the installation of a three piece outdoor gym and one outdoor table tennis table on land owned by Thames Water beside the New River, and Eleanor Road Neighbourhood Watch won £1000 for tree planting. Four other schemes in across Wood Green were awarded the rest of £25,000 allocated for this year's Making the Difference.
The allocation of the £25,000 was agreed by the 9 councillors who make up the Wood Green Area Committee, after asking for feeback and comments from residents who attended the last Area Forum. Cllr Joanna Christophides, who is Chair of the Area Committee and Forum said "There was a great number of really exciting projects across the three Wood Green wards and councillors for those wards had to make difficult decisions. We feel we have really struck the balance with the projects that have been allocated the money and we look forward to seeing the finished results."
