Cllr Joanna Christophides, Cllr Matt Cooke, Cllr Ali Demirci
The Bounds Green ward councillors are meeting with the Village Manager for Veolia, the company that runs the refuse collection and street cleaning service in Haringey, next week to discuss issues and areas of concern to local residents. Cllrs Christophides, Cooke and Demirci are asking residents and businesses in Bounds Green to comment - positively or negatively - about the service they have been receiving since Veolia took over earlier this year. In particular, they want to flag up any areas in the ward which are persistently fly tipped or perhaps to let Veolia know where there are areas which aren't as clean as they should be.
Commenting, Cllr Christophides said "Most people report very positvely about their experiences with Veolia and welcome the changes such as increased street cleaning. There have been some early problems which have hopefully been ironed out and it is clear that there are areas which are persistently being fly tipped. We have been working closely with residents asociations to bring these to the attention of Veolia and make sure that dumped rubbish is dealt with legally."
The councillors are asking residents to comment before 2nd November and they can do this via email to joanna.christophides@haringey.gov.uk or call on 07854 544 697.
