Haringey Labour today launched a campaign to promote fair tips across Hornsey and Wood Green. We believe tips should go to the wait staff, not used by management to make up the minimum wage. Do you agree good service should recieve the full tip?

CPZ EXTENSION CONSULTATION ANNOUNCED

We've sent the following letter to residents around Marlborough and Thorold Roads:

Dear Resident,

CPZ Extensions around Marlborough and Thorold Road

We’ve been working for months now to try and get more information on the

extension to the local CPZ which so many of you and your neighbours have been asking for.

We have been pushing hard for local people’s calls to be answered on this issue and we’re pleased to inform you that last week the Council’s Cabinet approved the funding to allow for statutory consultation to go ahead for the Bounds Green CPZ extension which will include your road.

Because the CPZ was introduced so recently, this new consultation will have only one round (as opposed to the several rounds last time) and this will be straight to statutory consultation, notifying residents and businesses of the roads which the Council will look to include in the final scheme.

We have found out that this statutory consultation is scheduled for February next year, it will be the only consultation undertaken and will be open for 21 days for response and feedback . The analysis of responses will take around 4 weeks. It’s important that you send back the forms you receive and encourage neighbours to do the same!

Subject to receiving support for the proposal from a majority of residents, work on site should commence in May 2009 which would mean the scheme could be operational from the end of June 2009.

Work is also progressing on the A406 traffic calming measures for Palmerston and Whittington Roads which should see less traffic in the area once these measures are installed early next year—we’ll write with more info soon.
