I must firstly start with an apology. The last blog I posted was way back in 2008 on the morning of Obama's election in the US. It seems to have taken me until now, just days before his inauguration before I've returned to this page!

Firstly, a very Happy New Year! We have been busy in Bounds Green delivering out our survey of the Bounds Green crossing and the changes local people want to see there. We have also been working in Seven Sisters after the very sad death of Cllr Fred Knight before Christmas.

Labour's candidate is Joe Goldberg who will make an outstanding Councillor. If you're reading this and you live in Seven Sisters please do remmeber to get out and vote this coming Thursday 15th.

Read an amazing and very moving article in the Guardian 'comment is free' site today. You can read it here.  It's a chilling reminder that whilst we take free comment for granted here in the UK, journalists and others are paying the very highest price for it in other parts of the World.

This is just a holding blog really, I do want to say more on the current Israel/Gaza crisis and on the economic problems here in the UK, but that will have to wait a few days.
